Note:    Call for submissions for the 2007 second issue has commenced. Submission deadline is on September 21, 2007.

Aim and Scope of the Bulletin

The Bulletin aims to promote the following:

  • increased knowledge of and greater interest in the science, design, development, construction, languages, management and applications of modern computing.
  • greater interest in computing and its applications.

 

Submission procedure

All submissions should be in electronic form. The editors will acknowledge the receipt of submission as soon as possible.  Please submit via email as attached files. The accepted formats for submission are Word document and RTF. For figures, BMP, GIF and JPEG (JPG) are the preferred formats. Authors must supply separate figures in one of these formats even if they are embedded in text. In case the file(s) can't be opened, editors will contact the corresponding author by email.

 

Please provide following details with each submission:

  • Author(s) full name(s) including title(s)
  • Name of corresponding author
  • Job title(s)
  • Organisation(s)
  • Full contact details of all authors including email address, postal address, telephone and fax numbers
  • Photo of main author (optional)

 

 

Bulletin Columns

Perspectives Column (call for submission, open to public)

  • opinion statement from the editorial board or the public,
  • survey or position articles about current application of information technologies.

 

Please note that article submitted to this column will not be peer-reviewed.

Feature Articles (call for paper, open to public)

Article that adhere to the Aim and Scope of the Bulletin and will be subjected to peer-review.

Publications, Presentations & Products (call for submission, open to ACM_NZ members)

This is an announcement section that members of the Chapter can announce their recent academic, professional or commercial activities.

  • Publications: citation in APA5 format is required, and hyperlink to the source document is encouraged.
  • Presentation: title, venue, date, speaker name, abstract is required, addressed audience is optional.
  • Product: product name, description are required, URL, licence info, picture are optional. Invitations to contribute article of products will be made for new products with impact to the member society.

Upcoming Events (call for submission, open to public)

Announcements of coming events, e.g. conferences, seminars, public meetings and call for papers, are presented in this section. Organisations are welcome to submit their events notification here if they are open to public. The submission should include at least the title, description, contact person (optional), and URL (optional).

This section includes links:

  • to relevant information regarding to any articles in all the above sections,
  • with descriptive useful information to the member society (description submitted by the members or website owners).

News Flash (call for submission, open to public)

News items that bear relevance to the member society. News article from public/organisation/company are welcome as long as the article bears relevance to the ACM_NZ community. The submissions should be sent via email to the column editor Michael Verhaart at mverhaart@eit.ac.nz

 

Review

All peer review publications will be refereed in double-blind review process by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.
